Water Rollers Africa operates in rural communities and townships across Southern Africa, making water collection easier, safer, and more efficient. Through local partners, we distribute the African-designed Eco Water Roller, which helps families move water with less physical strain, greater dignity, and more time for school, work, and daily life.
In many Southern African communities, water may be available, but getting it home is demanding and time-consuming. Women and children carry heavy buckets long distances every day. Water Rollers Africa provides a practical solution with the EcoRoller, by replacing heavy lifting with easy rolling.
The EcoRoller moves water with far less strain on the body — especially for women and children, who carry nearly 80% of the burden.
Rolling 70 litres on the ground replaces lifting and head-loading, reducing back strain, falls, spillage, fatigue, and exposure to risk during long daily walks.
When less time and energy are spent carrying water, families can focus on health, hygiene, work, school, and a stable daily home life.
