Water Rollers Africa respects the privacy of customers, supporters, partners, website visitors and people who contact us.

This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information.

Who is responsible for your information

Water Rollers Africa NPC is the responsible party for personal information collected through waterrollersafrica.org and related WRA sales, enquiry and customer processes, except where another organisation is independently responsible for its own processing.

Personal information we may collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

Payment information

Online payments are processed through Paystack. WRA does not store your full payment-card details. Paystack processes payment information under its own security and privacy practices.

Why we use personal information

We may process personal information to:

  • Process and manage orders and payments
  • Arrange fulfilment and delivery
  • Respond to enquiries and quote requests
  • Provide customer service, returns and warranty support
  • Maintain transaction, accounting, tax and operational records
  • Prevent fraud, misuse and security incidents
  • Measure campaign and website performance
  • Improve our website, customer journey and services
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
  • Send marketing communications where we have a lawful basis to do so

Sharing personal information

We may share personal information with service providers where reasonably necessary to operate WRA and fulfil your request or order.

These may include hosting and website providers, WooCommerce/WordPress service providers, payment processors, CRM/email platforms, manufacturers, fulfilment partners, delivery providers, professional advisers and authorities where disclosure is legally required.

For EcoRoller orders, delivery information may be shared with the manufacturer or delivery partner where necessary to fulfil the order.

WRA remains the customer-facing seller.

Marketing communications

Buying an EcoRoller or submitting an operational enquiry does not automatically mean that you have consented to unrelated marketing.

Where consent is required for electronic direct marketing, WRA will seek appropriate consent.

Where South African law permits marketing to existing customers for WRA’s own similar products or services, customers will be given a reasonable opportunity to object.

Marketing messages will include a practical way to opt out or unsubscribe.

Cookies, analytics and campaign tracking

The website may use cookies or similar technologies for essential site operation, security, checkout functionality, analytics and campaign attribution.

Where required, we will provide appropriate notice or choices concerning non-essential technologies.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to manage our relationship with you, to comply with legal, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution and record-keeping obligations, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Different categories of information may have different retention periods.

Information security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the information and the systems we use.

No website or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to reduce risk and limit access to authorised purposes.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask WRA to:

  • Confirm whether we hold personal information about you
  • Request access to it
  • Ask for inaccurate information to be corrected
  • Object to certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Request deletion where the law permits

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a privacy request.

Cross-border processing

Some website, payment, email, CRM, hosting or technology providers may process information outside South Africa.

Where cross-border processing occurs, WRA will take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer is handled in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.

Children

The ecommerce and enquiry functions on this website are not intentionally directed at children acting without an appropriate parent, guardian or other lawful representative.

If we become aware that personal information was collected in circumstances requiring additional protection, we will handle it in accordance with applicable law.
